THE CITY COUNCIL HAS APPROVED A STUDY TO CREATE A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING OVER THE BIG SIOUX RIVER FROM RIVERSIDE PARK INTO SOUTH DAKOTA.

CITY PARKS DIRECTOR MATT SALVATORE SAYS THE STUDY WILL LOOK AT THREE LOCATIONS:

PEDBRIDGE1 OC…RIVERSIDE AQUATIC CENTER. :16

COUNCILMAN ALEX WATTERS SAYS THE PROJECT WOULD GREATLY ENHANCE THE CITY’S TRAIL SYSTEM:

PEDBRIDGE2 OC…….ONE ITEM. :10

DAKOTA DUNES COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGER JEFF DOOLEY WANTS THE PROJECT TO SUCCEED, BUT SAYS THE RIVER PRESENTS A CHALLENGE:

THE CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH HR GREEN OF SIOUX FALLS WOULD COST NEARLY $31,000 WITH THE SIOUXLAND CHAMBER AND DAKOTA DUNES EACH CONTRIBUTING $5000 TOWARDS THAT COST.
