CLOSING ARGUMENTS IN BELK CASE DUE BY MAY 17TH

WITNESS TESTIMONY WRAPPED UP FRIDAY AFTERNOON IN THE FIRST DEGREE MURDER TRIAL OF PAUL BELK IN WOODBURY COUNTY DISTRICT COURT.

THE 31-YEAR-OLD BELK IS CHARGED IN THE FATAL STABBING LAST APRIL OF THE WOMAN WHO ADOPTED HIM, 55-YEAR-OLD LISA BELK.

PAUL BELK IS ALSO CHARGED WITH WILLFUL INJURY FOR ALLEGEDLY STABBING HIS ADOPTED SISTER, 28-YEAR-OLD SUSAN BELK IN THE SAME INCIDENT.

BOTH THE WOODBURY COUNTY ATTORNEY AND BELK’S DEFENSE ATTORNEYS WILL NOW FILE WRITTEN CLOSING ARGUMENTS IN THE CASE BY MAY 17TH.

JUDGE JEFFREY NEARY IS PRESIDING OVER THE BENCH TRIAL.
