TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER PURSUIT TO CITY’S WESTSIDE

TWO SIOUX CITY MEN ARE IN CUSTODY FACING CHARGES AFTER A PURSUIT ON ST. PATRICK’S NIGHT.

THE INCIDENT BEGAN WHEN A SIOUX CITY POLICE OFFICER SPOTTED A VEHICLE INVOLVED IN A FELONY ARMED DOMESTIC ASSAULT FROM SEVERAL NIGHTS AGO.

A WOODBURY COUNTY DEPUTY ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT GORDON DRIVE & NEBRASKA STREET, BUT THE DRIVER FLED.

THE PURSUIT CONTINUED ON I-29 AND THEN INTO THE WEST SIDE OF SIOUX CITY WHERE THE DEPUTY’S VEHICLE STRUCK THE SUSPECT VEHICLE CAUSING IT TO SPIN OUT.

THE DRIVER, 24-YEAR-OLD MICHAEL HAMMOND AND A PASSENGER, 22-YEAR-OLD RICARDO RAMIREZ BOTH FLED ON FOOT AND WERE QUICKLY TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.

HAMMOND IS CHARGED WITH O-W-I, FELONY ELUDING, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION AND MULTIPLE TRAFFIC COUNTS.
