A new website has launched to help people planning a trip to Sioux Center or spending time here explore more of what the community offers.

Explore Sioux Center, at www.exploresiouxcenter.com, is a visitor-focused website showcasing attractions, activities, restaurants, stores, and other destinations in one place, helping give a big-picture view.

“Whether people are in town for a tournament, a job interview, to swim at Siouxnami Waterpark, for a business trip, or a visit to Dordt University, this website helps tell more of Sioux Center’s story and invites them to imagine enjoying more time here,” said Sioux Center Communications Coordinator Maggie Landegent. “The goal is to make it easy for people to think, ‘Wow, Sioux Center has a lot to offer, and I can plan an evening or weekend… or even life here.’”

Destinations and events can continue to be added to the Explore Sioux Center site to keep it robust. People can email items to Landegent at maggiel@siouxcenter.org.

“In part, this website is designed to help destinations across Sioux Center help tell our unified, bigger story. We invite everyone to share it and help add to it as well,” Landegent said.

The website is paid for in part with a $9,300 Iowa Tourism Grant to the City of Sioux Center through the Iowa Tourism Office. The competitive program funds tourism-related marketing initiatives, meetings and events that benefit both local economies and the state’s economy. The website has been developed and launched with insights from the local Tourism Steering Committee, including the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce and Dordt University, and a cohort of tourism stakeholders from across Sioux Center.

Visitors spent over $7.5 billion in Iowa last year, generating a $11.2 billion economic impact and 71,918 jobs. Sioux County accounted for $56.4 million in 2024 visitor spending, supporting 462 jobs.
