(Sioux City, Iowa – 12/16/2025) Briar Cliff Athletics is proud to announce its 2026 Hall of Fame class and will induct three Chargers on January 17. The Hall of Fame class includes Noah Ylagan (football), Kate Boettcher (women’s volleyball) and Ricardo Yearwood (men’s basketball).
Ylagan, a native of San Diego, California, rewrote the Charger record books during his career at Briar Cliff. He is the Chargers’ all-time rushing leader with 3,387 career yards and is the only Charger in program history to rush for 1,000 yards or more in a season. He ranks first in career rushing attempts with 756 and rushing touchdowns with 17. Ylagan holds the top two single season rushing totals in school history, recording 1,334 yards in 2017 and 1,125 yards in 2018. He rushed for 681 yards in 2016 ranking seventh in a single season. Ylagan holds the most 100 yard rushing games for a Charger with 13 including a program best six in 2017.
Ylagan holds the top two spots in rushing yards per contest in a season, averaging 121.3 yards in 2017 and 102.3 yards in 2018. He also set the single season rushing touchdown mark with eight in 2017. He is tied for second with six in 2018. He ranks third in career rushing yards per attempt with 4.5 per carry. In the 2017 season, he set the single season rushing yards per attempt average with 5.1 yards per carry. His 4.6 yards per carry in 2018 ranks fourth.
Ylagan also owns the top three single-game rushing performances in program history and is the only Charger to rush for more than 200 yards in a contest. He rushed for 265 yards against Dakota Wesleyan in 2017, 218 yards against Hastings in 2017 and 199 yards against Dordt in 2018. His 41 rushes against Hastings in 2017 ranks first in a single game, 37 against Midland in 2018 ranks tied for third, 32 against Dakota Wesleyan in 2017 ranks seventh, and 32 against Dordt in 2018 ranks eighth. Ylagan’s 260 rushing attempts in 2017 ranks first in a single season, followed by 243 in 2018. His 192 rushing attempts in 2016 ranks seventh in a single season.
Ylagan was a two-time All-GPAC second team selection and graduated from Briar Cliff in 2018.
“Noah was a great player who still holds 12 of the 14 individual rushing records at Briar Cliff,” said Dennis Wagner. “A great leader on and off the field, our staff and his teammates are very proud of his Hall of Fame Induction!”
Boettcher, a native of Owatonna, Minnesota, finished her career as the Chargers’ all-time leader in digs by a libero with 2,862. She holds the three highest single-season dig totals in program history with 834 in 2007, 733 in 2005, and 705 in 2006.
In the 2016 season, Boettcher posted 50 digs in a match, ranking second in a single match. Her 45 digs against Dordt in 2007 ranks fourth in a single match. She also holds the eighth spot with 41 against Morningside in 2007 and the 10th spot with 40 against Nebraska Wesleyan in 2007.
Boettcher was named GPAC Libero of the Year in 2007 and earned first-team All-GPAC honors in 2006 and 2007. She was also a second-team All-GPAC selection in 2005. Boettcher graduated from Briar Cliff in 2007.
“Kate was one of the finest six rotation players and most consistent and steady, she was quiet, but intense and led by example,” said Mary Schroder, former Head Coach. “She was one of the best players I’ve ever coached, some of her skills and methods have transcended her time in a way that they are widely utilized today. She was a great student, teammate, and friend and she was a pleasure to coach and challenged me to be better every day.”
Yearwood, a native of Panama City, Panama, ranks 11th on Briar Cliff’s all-time scoring list with 1,787 career points. He ranks first in program history in career field-goal percentage, converting 64.8% of his attempts.
Yearwood also ranks eighth all-time in career field goals made with 673, seventh in free throws made with 441, and second in free throw attempts with 754. He ranks third in career steals with 215 and fifth in career blocks with 98. His 65 steals in the 1995-96 season ranks 10th in a single season. He ranks seventh all-time in three pointers attempted with 441.
Yearwood recorded three of the top four single-season field-goal percentages in program history, shooting 65.6% during the 1994–95 season, which ranks second all-time. He also shot 65.4% in the 1992–93 season, ranking third, and 64.4% in the 1995–96 season, ranking fourth.
Yearwood was a three-time All-Region selection during his final three seasons at Briar Cliff. Yearwood graduated from Briar Cliff in 1996.
“As a freshman, Ricardo played behind two All-American players and as a sophomore became a dominate player himself,” said Ron Schultz, former coach. “For three years, in every game, he played more minutes, scored more points, had more rebounds, assists, and steals than any of his teammates. He was a prolific shooter, never shooting below 64% on field goals his last three years. He was a complete player; he is listed among our leaders in every individualized category.”
