THE SIOUX COUNTY SHERIFF HAS IDENTIFIED THE TWO PEOPLE WHO DIED IN A HOUSE FIRE IN ORANGE CITY, IOWA FRIDAY MORNING.
THE BODIES OF 79-YEAR-OLD ARLAN EGDORF AND HIS WIFE, 82-YEAR-OLD LINDA EGDORF, WERE FOUND BY RESPONDING FIREFIGHTERS UPON ENTERING THE RESIDENCE.
THEY WERE PRONOUNCED DECEASED BY THE SIOUX COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER.
ORANGE CITY FIREFIGHTERS FOUND FLAMES AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOME AT 6TH AND ALBANY AROUND 7 A.M. WHEN THEY ARRIVED.
THE HOUSE WAS A TOTAL LOSS WITH DAMAGE IN EXCESS OF $100,000.
THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE ORANGE CITY FIRE CHIEF AND IOWA STATE FIRE MARSHAL.

FLAMES AND SMOKE WERE COMING FROM THE HOME BY THE TIME CREWS ARRIVED.
THE FIRE CHIEF CONFIRMS TWO PEOPLE DIED IN THE FIRE.
THEIR NAMES HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED.
ALTON’S FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTED IN FIGHTING THE BLAZE.
THE HOME WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS UNDETERMINED AT THIS TIME.
