SNAKES SEIZED FROM SIOUX CITY HOME

SIOUX CITY POLICE REMOVED SEVERAL EXOTIC SNAKES FROM A HOME IN LEEDS ON THE CITY’S NORTHSIDE MONDAY NIGHT AFTER A NEIGHBOR CALLED SAYING THERE WAS A BOA CONSTRICTOR AND FEEDER MICE IN HIS HOME.

POLICE EXECUTED A SEARCH WARRANT AT 4624 HARRISON STREET AROUND 10 P.M. AND WITH ANIMAL CONTROL STAFF REMOVED NUMEROUS EXOTIC SNAKES AND FEEDER MICE THAT WERE BEING RAISED IN THE HOME.

THE ANIMALS ARE BEING CARED FOR AT THE CITY’S ANIMAL ADOPTION AND RESCUE CENTER.

THE HOME-OWNER WAS ABSENT AT THE TIME OF THE REMOVAL OF THE SNAKES AND MICE.

THE MATTER HAS BEEN REFERRED TO THE CITY’S LEGAL DEPARTMENT FOR CONSIDERATION OF APPROPRIATE CHARGES.
THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
