WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW ISSUED FOR SIOUXLAND FRIDAY

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FROM 6AM FRIDAY THROUGH MIDNIGHT.

THE WEATHER SERVICE IS PREDICTING 3-6 INCHES OF SNOW.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY HAS DECLARED A SNOW EMERGENCY STARTING AT 6AM FRIDAY THROUGH 6AM SATURDAY.

THAT MEANS PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES, WHICH ARE MARKED WITH SIGNAGE.

VEHICLES MAY BE TOWED IF THEY ARE PARKED, STALLED OR STUCK ON EMERGENCY ROUTES.

ODD-EVEN PARKING WILL GO INTO EFFECT IN SOUTH SIOUX ON THE NON-EMERGENCY STREETS.

A REMINDER THAT IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO BLOW OR SHOVEL SNOW ONTO CITY STREETS.

FORECASTERS SAY THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON IS HEADED TOWARD IOWA AND 22 COUNTIES ACROSS THE STATE’S NORTHERN THIRD ARE UNDER A WINTER STORM WATCH FOR FRIDAY.

LIGHT SNOW HAS ALREADY FALLEN A COUPLE OF TIMES IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE STATE IN RECENT WEEKS, BUT THIS STORM PROMISES TO BE WIDESPREAD.

THIS WEEK THE TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN CHILLY, BUT THE WEATHER ROLLER COASTER WILL GO BACK UP NEXT WEEK:
