CANCER PATIENT THANKS UNITYPOINT NURSES WITH DOVE RELEASE

A RECENT CANCER PATIENT AT SIOUX CITY’S ST. LUKE’S UNITYPOINT HEALTH CENTER RETURNED TO THANK HIS CAREGIVERS THURSDAY WITH A SPECIAL OUTDOOR CEREMONY.

RUSS GUTHRIDGE OF AURELIA AND HIS WIFE RELEASED 50 WHITE DOVES AS A SIGN OF LOVE, NEW BEGINNINGS AND BLESSINGS TO HIS CAREGIVERS:

HALEY BREWER WAS THE LEAD NURSE WHO CARED FOR GUTHRIDGE:

GUTHRIDGE SAYS BREWER AND THE NURSES HELPED HIM ENDURE HIS CANCER CHEMOTHERAPY:

DOVES4 OC………REALLY MADE IT BEARABLE. :15

THE DOVES TOOK FLIGHT, CIRCLED THE HOSPITAL, AND BEGAN THEIR 60 MILE JOURNEY BACK HOME TO AURELIA.

GUTHRIDGE HAS RAISED AND TRAINED THE BIRDS FOR NEARLY 15 YEARS AND SAYS THEY ALWAYS FIND THEIR WAY HOME:

GUTHRIDGE SAYS THE BIRDS ALSO TAKE PART IN RACING EVENTS, AND CAN FIND THEIR WAY HOME FROM UP TO 600 MILES AWAY.
