WOODBURY SHERIFF’S K-9 UNIT TAKES TOP HONORS IN COMPETITION

THE WOODBURY COUNTY SHERIFF’S K-9 UNIT RECENTLY COMPETED IN THE U.S.POLICE CANINE ASSOCIATION NARCOTICS TRIALS IN FORT MADISON, IOWA.

THE SEVEN HANDLER/K-9 TEAMS ALL RECEIVED THEIR USPCA NARCOTICS CERTIFICATION DURING THE TRIALS.

THE TEAM CONSISTING OF SGT. TROY TADLOCK (DIESEL), DEPUTY DARIN FAY (DOZER) AND DEPUTY ERIC FAY (GARZO) TOOK FIRST PLACE HONORS IN THE OVERALL TEAM COMPETITION.

DEPUTY FAY AND GARZO FINISHED THIRD IN THE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION.

SGT. NATE SANDS AND HIS SOON TO BE RETIRED K-9 RICO WERE GIVEN THE “2020 CASE OF THE 2ND QUARTER” AWARD FOR SEIZING 11.5 POUNDS OF METHAMPHETAMINE DURING A TRAFFIC STOP ON I-29 IN 2020.
