SIOUX CITY TO BUILD NEW AVIATION & FLIGHT SCHOOL FACILITY

SIOUX CITY HAS RECEIVED A MILLION DOLLAR FEDERAL GRANT FROM THE COMMERCE DEPARTMENT’S PUBLIC WORKS ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

CITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR MARTY DOUGHERTY SAYS THE MONEY WILL BE USED TO HELP FUND A NEW BUILDING AT SIOUX GATEWAY AIRPORT:

DOUGHERTY SAYS THE OCCUPANT OF THE $7 MILLION DOLLAR FACILITY HASN’T BEEN FINALIZED YET:

AIRBLDG2 OC………AND SO ON. :15

THE AVIATION CENTER WILL PARTNER WITH AREA SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FULLY ACCREDITED FLIGHT SCHOOL.

BESIDES THE FLIGHT SCHOOL THE FACILITY WILL CONTAIN TWO HANGAR BAYS AND TWO STORIES OF OFFICE SPACE, AND IS EXPECTED TO CREATE 42 NEW SKILLED JOBS.
