27-YEAR-OLD JEREMIAH SHORTENHAUS WAS SENTENCED TO FIFTEEN YEARS FOR POSSESSING AND BRANDISHING A FIREARM IN FURTHERANCE OF A CRIME OF VIOLENCE.

PROSECUTORS SAY SHORTENHAUS ROBBED A MAN AT GUNPOINT IN SIOUX CITY IN JULY OF 2019 WHILE THE VICTIM WAS IN HIS CAR AT AN ATM.

SHORTENHAUS THEN ORDERED THE MAN OUT OF HIS VEHICLE AND STOLE IT ALONG WITH PERSONAL PROPERTY INSIDE THE CAR.

LATER THAT SAME NIGHT, IN SOUTH SIOUX CITY, SHORTENHAUS ROBBED A SECOND VICTIM WHO WAS SITTING IN HIS VEHICLE.

HE POINTED A HANDGUN AT THE VICTIM, ORDERED HIM OUT OF THE CAR AND STOLE HIS WALLET, PHONE AND THAT VEHICLE.

SHORTENHAUS WAS APPREHENDED BY A SIOUX CITY POLICE OFFICER AFTER A HIGH-SPEED CHASE THAT ENDED WHEN SHORTENHAUS CRASHED THE SECOND STOLEN CAR AND FLED ON FOOT.
