WARDENS RECEIVE NEW ASSIGNMENTS IN IOWA PRISON SYSTEM

IOWA GOVERNOR KIM REYNOLDS SAYS CHANGES ARE TAKING PLACE IN THE STATE’S PRISON SYSTEM IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE MURDERS OF TWO STAFF MEMBERS KILLED BY INMATES LAST MONTH AT THE ANAMOSA STATE PENITENTIARY:

WARDENS1 OC……….IMMEDIATELY. :16

FOUR WARDENS HAVE BEEN REASSIGNED, INCLUDING THE WARDEN WHO WAS IN CHARGE AT ANAMOSA .

JEREMY LARSON IS NOW THE INTERIM WARDEN OF THE PRISON IN NEWTON.
RANDY GIBBS, THE WARDEN OF THE STATE’S MAXIMUM-SECURITY PRISON IN FORT MADISON, HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY REASSIGNED TO SERVE AS WARDEN AT ANAMOSA.

GOVERNOR REYNOLDS SAYS ANOTHER PRISON POSITION IS ALSO BEING CREATED:

WARDENS2 OC……..ALL FACILITIES. :10

AN EXTERNAL INVESTIGATION OF THE DEATHS WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE.

THE WARDEN WHO’S BEEN IN CHARGE OF THE PRISONS IN FORT DODGE AND ROCKWELL CITY RETIRED TUESDAY.

THE WARDEN OF THE NEWTON PRISON IS NOW THE INTERIM WARDEN OF THE TWO FACILITIES WHILE THE SEARCH IS ON TO REPLACE THE WARDEN WHO RETIRED.
