COUNTY SUPERVISORS SET PROCESS TO APPOINT NEW TREASURER

THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WILL DECIDE NEXT TUESDAY WHO THEY WANT TO BECOME THE NEXT COUNTY TREASURER.

THE SUPERVISORS SPENT AROUND 15 MINUTES WITH EACH OF THREE CANDIDATES TUESDAY, ASKING THEM QUESTIONS.

VICE CHAIRMAN MATTHEW UNG SAYS HE WANTS A TRANSPARENT PROCESS TO PICK THE NEXT COUNTY TREASURER:

UNG CHAIRED THE MEETING BECAUSE CHAIRMAN ROCKY DEWITT IS ABSTAINING FROM THE SELECTION PROCESS AS HIS NEPHEW KOLBY DE WITT IS ONE OF THE THREE CANDIDATES.

THE OTHER APPLICANTS ARE BUSINESSWOMAN TINA BERTRAND AND MIKE HEADID, WHO FINISHED 3RD IN THE GENERAL ELECTION FOR TREASURER IN 2018.

MIKE CLAYTON RETIRED AS COUNTY TREASURER LAST WEEK WITH AROUND A YEAR AND A HALF LEFT ON HIS CURRENT TERM.
