MRHD AWARDS OVER $400,000 IN SPRING GRANTS

MISSOURI RIVER HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDED OVER $400-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN GRANTS TO 33 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES THURSDAY.

THE GRANTS RANGED FROM $3,710 TO $15,000.

THURSDAY’S DISTRIBUTIONS BRING MRHD’S TOTAL CONTRIBUTION TO WOODBURY COUNTY NON-PROFITS AND GOVERNMENT ENTITIES TO ALMOST $41 MILLION DOLLARS SINCE 1994.

AMONG THIS YEAR’S RECIPIENTS IS THE HOPE REDEMPTION CENTER WHICH RECEIVED A $10,980 GRANT TO PURCHASE A GLASS CRUSHER AND TWO TRAILERS FOR CANS AND BOTTLE DROP-OFFS.

A $13,000 GRANT TO HOSPICE OF SIOUXLAND WILL BE USED TO INSTALL A NEW SECURITY SYSTEM AND THE CITY OF OTO RECEIVED $15-THOUSAND TO PURCHASE A SKID LOADER.

A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, MRHD HOLDS THE LICENSE FOR GAMING IN WOODBURY COUNTY. ITS FUNDING IS GENERATED BY AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN MRHD AND HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO SIOUX CITY WHICH ALLOWS HARD ROCK TO OPERATE A GAMING OPERATION USING MRHD’S LICENSE.
