DEVALL SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON ON WEAPONS CHARGE

A SIOUX CITY MAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 16 MONTHS IN FEDERAL PRISON ON A WEAPONS CHARGE.

43-YEAR-OLD DAVID DEVALL RECEIVED THE PRISON TERM AFTER PLEADING GUILTY TO BEING A FELON, DRUG USER AND DOMESTIC ABUSE MISDEMEANANT IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AND AMMUNITION.

DEVALL WAS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF FELONY AND DOMESTIC ABUSE CRIMES WHICH MADE IT ILLEGAL FOR HIM TO POSSESS A GUN.

HE WAS ARRESTED IN DECEMBER OF 2019 IN THE DRIVE-THROUGH OF A CLOSED MCDONALD’S RESTAURANT, WHERE HIS VEHICLE WAS STOPPED.

OFFICERS SEARCHED THE CAR AND LOCATED A BACKPACK CONTAINING TWO BAGGIES, A JAR OF MARIJUANA, A MARIJUANA PIPE, A METH PIPE, A SCALE, METHAMPHETAMINE, AND A LOADED 9MM SMITH & WESSON HANDGUN WITH A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER AND 14 ROUNDS IN THE MAGAZINE.
