A rural Wakefield, Nebraska driver died after his vehicle crashed off a state highway Thursday in northeast Nebraska.
Authorities say Richard Leikhus died from injuries in the crash that happened around 5:30 a.m. along Nebraska Highway 35, four miles east of Wayne.
Authorities say Leikhus’s vehicle went out of control and ran off the roadway into a ditch before rolling.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
