AUTHORITIES HAVE IDENTIFIED THE VICTIMS IN A FATAL TWO-VEHICLE CRASH SOUTH OF LE MARS TUESDAY MORNING.
THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS 26 YEAR OLD EVAN NETTLETON OF SIOUX CITY DIED WHEN HIS COMPACT S-U-V WAS STRUCK BY A PICKUP TRUCK AT THE INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROADS C-70 AND K-49 SOUTH OF LE MARS.
INVESTIGATORS SAY THE DRIVER OF THE PICKUP, 42 YEAR OLD TIMOTHY WOLFSWINKEL OF DALLAS CENTER, FAILED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND COLLIDED WITH NETTLETON’S VEHICLE.
THE CRASH SENT BOTH VEHICLES INTO A NEARBY FIELD.
NETTLETON DIED FROM INJURIES HE SUFFERED IN THE CRASH.
WOLFSWINKEL AND HIS 4 AND 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS WERE TAKEN TO A SIOUX CITY HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES.
THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS ALCOHOL WAS NOT A FACTOR IN THE CRASH AND THAT CHARGES ARE PENDING FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF THE TECHNICAL ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION.

THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS A PICKUP TRAVELING NORTH ON COUNTY ROAD K-49 FAILED TO STOP AT AN INTERSECTION WITH COUNTY ROAD C-70 AND STRUCK A WESTBOUND S-U-V.
THE CRASH SENT BOTH VEHICLES INTO A NEARBY FIELD.
THE SHERIFF SAYS THE DRIVER OF THE S-U-V DIED FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE CRASH.
THREE PEOPLE IN THE PICKUP INCLUDING THE DRIVER WERE TAKEN TO A SIOUX CITY HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES.
ALCOHOL WAS NOT A FACTOR IN THE CRASH.
THE NAMES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN THE CRASH HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED AND THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
