Sioux City authorities say the most recent predictions by the National Weather Service for water levels on the Big Sioux River are nearly 3 feet lower than were predicted on Tuesday.

City Fire Marshall Mark Aesoph says the height currently predicted does not pose a threat in any area of Sioux City, including Riverside.

City officials will continue to monitor updates from the weather service and provide updated information if needed.
