BOND REDUCTION DENIED IN SOUTH SIOUX MURDER CASE

BOND FOR THE SUSPECT CHARGED IN A FATAL SHOOTING OUTSIDE OF SOUTH SIOUX CITY’S LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER EARLIER THIS MONTH WILL REMAIN AT OVER A MILLION DOLLARS.

A JUDGE DENIED A MOTION TO REDUCE THE BOND FOR 41 YEAR OLD BEISHENG CHEN FROM ONE MILLION, 250-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

CHEN IS CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER, USE OF A DEADLY WEAPON TO COMMIT A FELONY AND FIRST DEGREE DOMESTIC ASSAULT IN THE SHOOTING DEATH OF HIS WIFE, 33 YEAR OLD MEI HUANG.

CHEN ALLEGEDLY SHOT HIS WIFE THE MORNING OF SEPTEMBER 6TH OUTSIDE OF THE CITY’S LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER AS SHE WAS WALKING UP TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ENTRANCE.

A PRELIMINARY HEARING FOR THE CASE WAS WAIVED.

AN ARRAIGNMENT WAS SET FOR NOVEMBER 3RD AT 9AM IN DAKOTA COUNTY DISTRICT COURT.

CHEN REMAINS HELD IN THE DAKOTA COUNTY JAIL.
