The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is investigating a fish kill in a small stream on the west side of Le Mars.
Authorities say the dead fish were found in a creek Thursday morning located less than a quarter mile from the Floyd River.
It’s not known if the fish kill is related to a manure spill from a hog lot near Kingsley over the weekend.
D-N-R staff have collected water samples and are determining the source of the fish kill.
