PURSUIT SUSPECT PLEADS NOT GUILTY

AN OMAHA MAN HAS PLEADED NOT GUILTY TO CHARGES STEMMING FROM A FATAL PURSUIT LAST NOVEMBER 11TH ON SIOUX CITY’S WESTSIDE.

24 YEAR OLD JERELL WILSON IS CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE AND ELUDING.

COURT DOCUMENTS ALLEGE WILSON WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE THAT A WOODBURY COUNTY DEPUTY TRIED TO PULL OVER FOR A REGISTRATION VIOLATION ON HAMILTON BOULEVARD.

THE VEHICLE SPED OFF AT 80 MILES AN HOUR, EVENTUALLY CRASHING INTO A RETAINING WALL AND ROLLING AT WEST THIRD AND ROSS.

A PASSENGER,38 YEAR OLD DJUAN BEVERLY DIED IN THE CRASH.

WILSON WAS INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO MERCY MEDICAL CENTER.

HE TESTED POSITIVE FOR BOTH MARIJUANA AND OPIATES.
AUTHORITIES ALSO FOUND 29 BAGS OF MARIJUANA IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE AT THE CRASH SITE.

WILSON IS BEING HELD IN THE WOODBURY COUNTY JAIL ON $25-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND.

A BOND REVIEW HEARING IS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 30TH.
