BOND SET FOR SOUTH SIOUX SHOOTING SUSPECT

THE SUSPECT CHARGED IN A FATAL SHOOTING OUTSIDE OF SOUTH SIOUX CITY’S LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER WAS IN COURT THURSDAY.

41 YEAR OLD BEISHENG CHEN HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER, USE OF A FIREARM TO COMMIT A FELONY AND FIRST DEGREE DOMESTIC ASSAULT IN THE SHOOTING DEATH OF HIS WIFE, 33 YEAR OLD MEI HUANG.

AN INTERPRETER WAS PROVIDED FOR CHEN IN COURT.

CHEN ALLEGEDLY SHOT HIS WIFE WEDNESDAY MORNING OUTSIDE OF THE CITY’S LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER AS SHE WALKED UP TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ENTRANCE.

SOUTH SIOUX POLICE CHIEF ED MAHON SAYS OFFICERS HEARD SHOTS AND RAN OUTSIDE AND APPREHENDED THE SUSPECT.

CHEN IS BEING HELD IN THE DAKOTA COUNTY JAIL ON ONE MILLION, 250-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND.
