MINNESOTA APPROVES HS HOOPS SHOT CLOCK

Boys and girls varsity basketball games in Minnesota will be required to a use a 35-second shot clock in two years.

The Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors approved the move today (Thursday) for the 2023-2024 season.

Recent polls indicate 70 percent of boys basketball coaches favor a shot clock and 64 percent of girls coaches support it.

There has been a push to add a shot clock for many years.
