NAIA announces Morningside as host of first-round playoffs for football

Sioux City, Iowa – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that two-time defending national and 10-time defending Great Plains Athletic Conference champion Morningside College will host a first-round playoff game on Saturday, April 17.

The game between the Mustangs (8-0) and Carroll College of Montana (3-1) will be held at Bishop Heelan Memorial Field due to the Sioux City Relays occurring at Elwood Olsen Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m. and gates will open at 12 p.m.

Due to NAIA COIVD-19 protocols, capacity is limited. Tickets will be sold at the gate and are $10 for adults and $3 for students. Carroll College fans can obtain wristbands through their athletic office prior to arrival and will pay the admission fee at the game on Saturday.

Admittance and stadium seating are first-come-first-serve on game day, and it is recommended that fans bring lawn chairs or alternate seating options for the greenspace as stadium seats may fill quickly. Parking is available in the Memorial Field lot, nearby residential streets, and at Bishop Heelan High School. Parking is prohibited in the Bomgaars lot across from the stadium. Masks are required and hand sanitizer will be available at stations around the stadium. Concessions will be available and consist of bottled water and soda and pre-packaged food items.
