ONE EMPLOYEE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES SATURDAY AFTERNOON WHEN A FIRE BROKE OUT AT HAWKEYE TRANSMISSION SERVICE AT 721 COOK STREET ON THE CITY’S WESTSIDE.
THICK BLACK SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE STRUCTURE WHEN SIOUX CITY FIRE RESCUE ARRIVED AROUND 3:15PM.
THE EMPLOYEE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT.
FIREFIGHTERS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED THE BLAZE AND VENTED THE BUILDING.
THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
