A LAWSUIT HAS BEEN FILED AGAINST WOODBURY COUNTY AND AUDITOR PAT GILL BY A SIOUX CITY DEVELOPER.

RICK BERTRAND HAS FILED A PETITION ASKING FOR A TEMPORARY INJUNCTION TO HAVE ALL VOTE CENTERS AND PRECINCTS OPEN FOR THE UPCOMING JULY 7TH COUNTY SUPERVISOR SPECIAL ELECTION AND THE JUNE 2ND IOWA PRIMARY.

CURRENTLY ONLY TWO VOTE CENTERS ARE SCHEDULED TO BE OPEN WITH GILL REQUESTING MOST PEOPLE TO VOTE ABSENTEE.

BERTRAND, WHO IS A FORMER REPUBLICAN STATE SENATOR, CLAIMS THAT MORE DEMOCRATS TRADITIONALLY VOTE ABSENTEE THAN REPUBLICANS, AND THAT A HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF MEN VOTE ON ELECTION DAY.

HE SAYS A LARGE NUMBER OF REPUBLICAN AND NON-PARTY MALE VOTERS WILL BE HARMED BY NOT BEING ABLE TO VOTE IN PERSON ON ELECTION DAY AT A VOTE CENTER.

BERTRAND ALSO CLAIMS LINES WILL BE LONG AT THE ONLY TWO VOTE CENTERS THAT DAY AND THAT PEOPLE WILL BE AT RISK FROM COVID-19 BECAUSE OF POTENTIAL LONG LINES OF PEOPLE.
