Governor Kim Reynolds has set January 16th as the date for a special election in Iowa State House District 6.
The special election follows the recent election of former Representative Jim Carlin to the seat in Iowa Senate District 3.
Iowa House District 6 is comprised of areas including Morningside, Sgt. Bluff and Lawton.
Republican Jacob Bossman has announced his intention to seek the seat.
