SUSPECT CAPTURED AFTER HIT & RUN IN STOLEN S-U-V

SIOUX CITY POLICE HAVE ARRESTED A SUSPECT WHO IS FACING CHARGES INVOLVING THE PURSUIT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE THAT EVENTUALLY WENT UP IN FLAMES IN LEEDS FRIDAY MORNING.

POLICE SAY 36 YEAR OLD ERIC BISHOP, A TRANSIENT, IS CHARGED WITH SECOND DEGREE THEFT AND ELUDING.

INVESTIGATORS SAY THE STOLEN S-U-V STRUCK THREE OTHER VEHICLES IN THE 400 BLOCK OF FLOYD BOULEVARD.

OFFICERS BEGAN A PURSUIT NORTH ON FLOYD INTO LEEDS WHERE THE DRIVER CRASHED THROUGH SEVERAL FENCES BEFORE ENDING UP IN A FIELD IN THE 4500 BLOCK OF NORTH RUSTIN.

THE VEHICLE STARTED ON FIRE AND ITS TWO OCCUPANTS FLED ON FOOT.

BISHOP WAS CAPTURED BUT THE SECOND SUSPECT IS STILL AT LARGE.

THE INVESTIGATION OF THE INCIDENT IS CONTINUING.
