Two local artists are featured in a new exhibit that opens Saturday at the Sioux City Art Center.
Art Center Curator Todd Behrens says the exhibition features paintings by Ben Pratt and Jodi Whitlock, who each received art degrees from Briar Cliff University, with Whitlock completing her Master of Fine Arts degree at University of South Dakota.
He says each artist has their own distinctive style of painting:

Pratt begins with a common object or image-such as a popsicle, a “Made in China” sticker or bullet holes.
Whitlock starts with old photographs and creates “blind contour drawings” of them:

There’a a free public reception with the artists Saturday at the Art Center from 5pm until 7pm.
The exhibitions will remain on view through March 12th.
