STUDENT CHARGED IN THREAT MADE AT SIOUX CITY WEST HIGH

A SIOUX CITY WEST HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IS FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY MAKING THREATS TO SHOOT UP THE SCHOOL WEDNESDAY MORNING.

CITY POLICE SAY THE SCHOOL WAS PLACED ON LOCKDOWN AROUND 10AM.

NO WEAPON WAS FOUND, OFFICERS DETERMINED THERE WAS NO CREDIBLE THREAT AND THE LOCKDOWN ENDED 40 MINUTES LATER.

POLICE TOOK A 15 YEAR OLD MALE STUDENT INTO CUSTODY.
THAT STUDENT WAS CHARGED WITH HARASSMENT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AND TOBACCO.

SIOUX CITY WEST HIGH SCHOOL WAS ON LOCKDOWN THIS MORNING. THE DISTRICT RECEIVED INFORMATION OF A STUDENT THREATENING THE SCHOOL AND CALLED POLICE TO INVESTIGATE.
AFTER EMERGENCY OFFICIALS FOUND THE THREAT HELD NO CREDIBILITY, THE SCHOOL WAS TAKEN OUT OF LOCKDOWN.
NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
