SIOUX CITY RESTAURANT AND BAR OWNERS GATHERED MONDAY TO DISCUSS ISSUES FACING THEIR BUSINESSES.

THE GROUP MET WITH JESSICA DUNKER, C-E-O OF THE IOWA RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION, WHO SAYS THERE ARE TWO MAIN ISSUES CONCERNING THEM THAT THE STATE LEGISLATURE MAY TAKE UP NEXT YEAR.

THE FIRST IS LIABILITY INSURANCE:

OC………RESTAURANTS AND BARS. :25

DUNKER SAYS THE OTHER ISSUE INVOLVES WAGES PAID TO EMPLOYEES AND THE STATE’S MINIMUM WAGE:

OC………ENTIRE STATE. ;11

DUNKER SAYS THE IOWA RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION DOESN’T OPPOSE AN INCREASE IN THE MINIMUM WAGE, AS LONG AS IT IS ROLLED OUT IN PHASES AND IS IMPLEMENTED STATEWIDE.

THE MEETING TOOK PLACE AT THE SIOUX CITY CONVENTION CENTER.
