Several South Sioux City residents are still waiting to return to their homes after being forced out of them by a strong odor nearly eight weeks ago.
The odor came into their homes from backflow into the city’s sewer system from Big Ox Energy.
Since then the residents have been living in hotels at the company’s and city’s expense.
Dakota County Emergency Management Director Deanna Beckman took over efforts to get the residents back into their homes this week and met with them at city hall Thursday night.
We’ll hear what both sides had to say later today on KSCJ News.
