SIOUX CITY NON-PROFITS SUE FORMER RIVERBOAT CASINO COMPANY

SEVERAL SIOUX CITY NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT SEEKING TO OBTAIN PAYMENT OF OVER TWO MILLION DOLLARS THEY SAY IS OWED TO THEM BY ARGOSY PENN GAMING, THE FORMER OPERATORS OF THE BELLE OF SIOUX CITY RIVERBOAT CASINO.

JEAN LOGAN DIRECTOR OF THE COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY OF SIOUXLAND, IS THE LEAD AGENCY OF THE LAWSUIT.

PENN NATIONAL GAMING, WHICH OPERATED THE ARGOSY BELLE RIVERBOAT CASINO, STOPPED PAYING THE FUNDS IN 2013 TO MISSOURI RIVER HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT, THE NON-PROFIT LICENSE HOLDER, AFTER MRHD PARTNERED WITH SIOUX CITY ENTERTAINMENT ON THE COMPETING HARD ROCK CASINO PROJECT.

PENN GAMING OFFICIALS SAID BACK THEN THAT THEY WOULD PUT THE MONEY IN A TRUST FUND.

LOGAN AND THE LOCAL NON-PROFITS SAY ITS TIME FOR PENN TO FINALLY PAY WHAT IS OWED TO THEM:

THERE’S BEEN NO RESPONSE FROM PENN GAMING YET TO THE LAWSUIT.
