PROSECUTION RESTS IN ABDINUR MURDER TRIAL (UPDATE)

The prosecution has rested its case in the second day of the murder trial of Isack Abdinur.

Abdinur is charged with first degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Cornelia Stead in June of 2015 at her Sioux City apartment.

Assistant Woodbury County Attorney James Loomis called investigators from the Sioux City Police Department to the stand along with the county’s medical examiner and an employee of a North Sioux City casino that Stead and Abdinur attended earlier the night of the alleged murder.

The trial will resume on Monday.

The prosecution has continued calling witnesses Thursday in the second day of testimony in the murder trial of Isack Abdinur.

Abdinur is charged with first degree murder in the fatal stabbing of Cornelia Stead in June of 2015 at her Sioux City apartment.

Assistant Woodbury County Attorney James Loomis called investigators from the Sioux City Police Department to the stand.

An employee of a North Sioux City casino that Stead and Abdinur attended earlier the night of the alleged murder also took the witness stand during morning testimony.

Judge Steven Andreasen is presiding over the bench trial.
