HIGHWAY 75 ACCIDENT VICTIM IN CRITICAL CONDITION

THE DRIVER OF AN SUV THAT COLLIDED WITH A CITY TRANSIT BUS EARLY TUESDAY MORNING REMAINS HOSPITALIZED IN CRITICAL CONDITION AT MERCY MEDICAL CENTER.

CHAD PLANTE OF HINTON, WAS EXTRICATED BY EMERGENCY RESPONDERS AFTER HIS SUV THAT WAS SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY 75 COLLIDED WITH A NORTHBOUND TRANSIT BUS THAT WAS TURNING LEFT ONTO OUTER BELT DRIVE.

FRIENDS OF PLANTE SAY HE SUSTAINED SEVERE HEAD AND LEG INJURIES.

THE DRIVER OF THE TRANSIT BUS, JAMIE PICA OF SIOUX CITY, WAS TREATED AT UNITY POINT ST. LUKE’S WITH MINOR INJURIES.

NO PASSENGERS WERE ON THE BUS.

CITY POLICE SAY THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
