THE CITY COUNCIL HAS REACHED AN APPARENT COMPROMISE OVER GLASS RECYCLING WITH GILL HAULING, THE CITY’S WASTE TRUCK SERVICE, BUT DEFERRED ACTION ON THE COMPROMISE FOR A WEEK.

COUNCILMAN DAN MOORE PROPOSED THE COMPROMISE:

OC…….PER YEAR. ;19

LEONARD GILL HAD PREVIOUSLY ASKED FOR MORE THAN TWICE THAT AMOUNT BECAUSE OF ADDITIONAL COSTS TO HIS COMPANY TO SEPARATELY DEAL WITH THE GLASS WHICH WILL BE RECYCLED BY A DIFFERENT COMPANY THAN IN THE PAST.

THE CITY WILL HAVE SEVEN SPECIFIC SITES AS DROP OFF POINTS FOR THE GLASS THAT GILL WILL COLLECT THE GLASS FROM WHEN NECESSARY.

MOORE ASKED FOR THE COMPROMISE VOTE TO BE DELAYED A WEEK SO THE LANGUAGE IN THE MOTION COULD BE READ AS PART OF THE AMENDED CONTRACT.
