CITY STILL COLLECTING RENT FROM CLOSED CALL CENTER ABOVE MUSEUM

YOU MAY HAVE SEEN SOME TRUCKS LOADING FURNITURE RECENTLY OUTSIDE OF THE SIOUX CITY PUBLIC MUSEUM AT 4TH AND NEBRASKA STREETS.

THAT FURNITURE IS BEING REMOVED FROM THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE BUILDING THAT WAS FORMERLY USED AS A CALL CENTER FOR DELTA AIRLINES.

CITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR MARTY DOUGHERTY SAYS DELTA STILL HAS ANOTHER YEAR TO GO ON THEIR LEASE OF THE BUILDING, AND THE CITY CONTINUES TO COLLECT THAT LEASE PAYMENT:

EVENTUALLY, THE CITY WOULD LIKE TO SEE A NEW TENANT OCCUPY THE SECOND FLOOR OF WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY A J.C. PENNEY’S BEFORE THE BUILDING BECAME THE PUBLIC MUSEUM’S NEW HOME:

IN THE MEANTIME THE CITY WILL COLLECT RENT ON THE VACATED SPACE FROM DELTA AIRLINES FOR 12 MORE MONTHS.
