THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HAVE A DECIDED REPUBLICAN MAJORITY OF 4-1 BY TAKING TWO OF THE THREE SEATS UP FOR ELECTION TUESDAY.

CURRENT CITY COUNCILMAN KEITH RADIG DEFEATED DEMOCRATIC INCUMBENT JACKIE SMITH BY A 54 TO 45% MARGIN FOR THE DISTRICT ONE SEAT:

REPUBLICAN ROCKY DE WITT WON WITH 41% OF THE VOTE OVER DEMOCRAT BRUCE GARBE AND INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE GARY NILES TO TAKE THE DISTRICT 5 SEAT HELD BY RETIRING DEMOCRAT LARRY CLAUSEN.

IN ONE OF THE NIGHT’S CLOSEST RACES, DEMOCRAT MARTY POTTEBAUM EDGED REPUBLICAN BRIAN MILLER 42 TO 41 PER CENT BY 355 VOTES IN THE UNOFFICIAL TOTAL.

POTTEBAUM TRAILED EARLY, BUT JUMPED INTO THE LEAD WHEN THE MAJORITY OF THE 19-THOUSAND PLUS ABSENTEE BALLOTS CAST WERE ADDED TO THE TALLY:
