ANOTHER CLOSE RACE IN TUESDAY’S ELECTION WAS FOR THE DISTRICT 14 IOWA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RACE.

DEMOCRAT TIM KACENA DEFEATED REPUBLICAN BOB HENDERSON 51 TO 48 PER CENT BY 234 TOTAL VOTES.

KACENA TRAILED BY 25 PERCENTAGE POINTS EARLY, BUT SURGED AHEAD WHEN THE ABSENTEE VOTES WERE ADDED TO THE VOTE TOTAL:

DEMOCRATIC INCUMBENT CHRIS HALL RETAINED HIS DISTRICT 13 HOUSE SEAT DEFEATING REPUBLICAN SHAUN BROYHILL 61 TO 38 PER CENT.

REPUBLICAN JIM CARLIN TOOK THE HOUSE DISTRICT 6 SEAT 65 TO 34 PER CENT OVER CURRENT SIOUX CITY SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER PERLA ALARCON-FLORY.
