Environmental issues will be discussed in a public “Protect the Earth Summit” to be hosted at the WinnaVegas Casino Wednesday.
State, tribal, and community leaders from Iowa and Nebraska are expected to participate in the summit which will cover the Dakota Access oil pipeline, green energy, and environmental protection.
Jane Kleeb of Bold Nebraska, and Ed Fallon of Bold Iowa, groups who have voiced opposition to the pipeline, will speak.
Also speaking will be Winona LaDuke, founder of Honor the Earth, a national advocacy group encouraging public support and funding for native environmental groups.
The forum begins at 9am at WinnaVegas in Sloan, Iowa.
