Briar Cliff University has decided not to pursue purchasing Headington Park from the city at this time.
A statement from the university says they have heard the concerns of neighbors and their intention is not to disrupt the neighborhood, but rather to explore ways to improve the park both for the community and their students.
A petition drive by residents garnered several hundred signatures objecting to the proposal of selling the west side park to Briar Cliff.
The university statement says they believe that the development of the park would benefit the neighborhood, which includes our campus community.
Briar Cliff says they will work with their neighbors to find a solution that will benefit everyone.
