Two events involving the Sioux City Public Museum will take place this weekend.
The first is a walking tour of Logan Park Cemetery at 3901 Stone Park Boulevard Saturday morning at 10am.
Tom Munson, the Museum’s Archives Manager, will lead the 90 minute walk through the gravesites of notable Sioux Cityans:

Then on Sunday afternoon, the museum will host a commemoration of Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, highlighting the Mexican tradition.
Museum curator Matt Anderson has prepared an exhibit of 13 altars that honor deceased loved ones;

The altars will be on display through November 5th.
La Perla Tapatia, a dance group from Irving Elementary, will perform throughout the afternoon.
Teacher Dave Lillie says the group is composed of girls from any cultural background in kindergarten through eighth grades and has been performing for six years:

The free event begins Sunday afternoon at 1pm at the Sioux City Public Museum located at 4th and Nebraska Streets.
