POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN WESTSIDE BEATING

SIOUX CITY POLICE HAVE ARRESTED A SUSPECT IN THE BEATING OF A SIOUX CITY RESIDENT THE NIGHT OF OCTOBER 14TH ON THE WEST SIDE.

16 YEAR OLD AUSTIN ROCKWOOD IS CHARGED WITH WILLFUL INJURY.

POLICE SAY THE VICTIM, NICHOLAS HODGINS, SAW A FIGHT TAKING PLACE IN THE 1500 BLOCK OF WEST 3RD STREET THAT NIGHT, AND WAS ASSAULTED BY NUMEROUS PEOPLE THERE.

COURT DOCUMENTS SAY HODGINS AS STOMPED AND KICKED UNCONSCIOUS, SUFFERING A FRACTURED ORBITAL SOCKET, A CONCUSSION AND LOST SEVERAL TEETH.

POLICE HAVE POSTED A VIDEO OF THE FIGHT ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE AND DETECTIVE NICK THOMPSON SAYS THAT HAS HELPED WITH THE INVESTIGATION:

THOMPSON SAYS HODGINS HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM A LOCAL HOSPITAL AND IS RECOVERING FROM HIS INJURIES.
