The murder trial of a Sioux City man charged in a stabbing death last February has been continued.
47-year-old Elias Wanatee is charged with first degree murder in the February 17th stabbing death of 50 year old Vernon Mace.
Police say Wanatee and Mace were in an argument at Mace’s daughter’s house and Wanatee stabbed Mace six times.
Mace later died at a hospital.
Wanatee’s attorney, filed for a continuance Monday and a judge granted the request.
The trial had been set to begin on Tuesday.
Elias Wanatee remains held in the Woodbury County Jail on $800-thousand dollars bond.
