Some changes are coming to the 13th annual Sioux City International Film Festival.
Spokesman Rick Mullin says for starters, the festival has been expanded and renamed:
OC…………and 25th. ;17
Mullin says the festival will be headquartered at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in downtown Sioux City.
Some films will still be shown at the Orpheum Theater, including a special silent film presentation:
OC……………mighty Wurlitzer organ. :21
Films will also be shown during the day at Stoney Creek, including documentaries at the Orpheum on Wednesday evening and reshown Thursday at the hotel.
The films are 30 minutes maximum with one category devoted to “short shorts”:
OC…………horror film night. :21
This year filmmakers can win $1,000 in each of four categories, which makes the Sioux City festival one of the more lucrative small festivals in the country.
The festival started taking entries September 1st. and you can find out more on the festival’s facebook page and website.
