STUDENTS CHARGED IN SSC LOCKDOWN INCIDENT

CRIMINAL CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST TWO SOUTH SIOUX CITY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHOSE ACTIONS LED TO A LOCKDOWN AND EVACUATION OF THEIR SCHOOL THURSDAY MORNING.

SOUTH SIOUX POLICE CONFIRM THE STUDENTS HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH DISTURBING THE PEACE.

POLICE SAY A CONVERSATION BETWEEN THEM INVOLVING THREATS WITH A GUN AGAINST SOMEONE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL WAS OVERHEARD AND REPORTED.

POLICE REMOVED THOSE TWO STUDENTS FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL AND THE BUILDING WAS EVACUATED AND SEARCHED FOR WEAPONS.

NO WEAPONS WERE FOUND AND NOBODY WAS INJURED.

THE NAMES AND AGES OF THE TWO MALE STUDENTS HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED.

OTHER CHARGES AND DISCIPLINE AGAINST THEM FROM THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS ALSO POSSIBLE.
