AN INCREASE IN THE MINIMUM WAGE FOR WOODBURY COUNTY CONTINUES TO BE A TOPIC OF DISCUSSION AMONG LOCAL LEADERS.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE CHRIS HALL WAS JOINED TUESDAY MORNING BY TWO LOCAL PASTORS TO DISCUSS POVERTY IN SIOUXLAND AND HOW A HIGHER WAGE WOULD HELP EASE THE PROBLEM MANY RESIDENTS ARE FACING:

IOWA’S MINIMUM WAGE IS CURRENTLY $7.25 AN HOUR, BUT HALL SAYS A STUDY SHOW YOU NEARLY NEED TO DOUBLE IT TO SUPPORT A FAMILY:

HALL SAYS HE WOULD PREFER TO SEE THE ISSUE DISCUSSED AT THE STATE LEVEL, BUT HE SAYS REPUBLICAN LEADERS REFUSE TO TAKE UP THE MATTER.
