CITIZEN’S GROUP TO STUDY INCREASING COUNTY’S MINIMUM WAGE

A GROUP OF LOCAL CITIZENS IS STARTING AN EFFORT TO STUDY A PROPOSAL TO INCREASE THE MINIMUM WAGE IN WOODBURY COUNTY.

THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HAS TWICE REJECTED A PROPOSAL TO FORM A COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE WAGE ISSUE.

THE LOCAL WAGE IS CURRENTLY AT THE FEDERAL MINIMUM LEVEL OF $7.25 AN HOUR.

LEAR SAYS IT’S TIME TO LOOK AT AN INCREASE:

THE GROUP WILL HAVE A PUBLIC MEETING THURSDAY EVENING AT MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE AND LEAR HOPES TO GET CITIZENS INPUT ON WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT THE ISSUE.

EVENTUALLY, THE GROUP WILL BRING THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS BACK TO CITY AND COUNTY LEADERS:

THE MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE THURSDAY AT 7PM IN THE UPS AUDITORIUM IN THE LINCOLN BUSINESS CENTER LOCATED AT MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE.
