SIOUX CITY MAN INJURED IN PICK-UP VS SEMI ACCIDENT

ONE PERSON WAS INJURED IN A COLLISION BETWEEN A PICK UP TRUCK AND A SEMI TRAILER TRUCK WEST OF LE MARS FRIDAY MORNING.

THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS THE PICK UP, DRIVEN BY GARY JOHNSON OF SIOUX CITY DROVE THROUGH THE STOP SIGN AT THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 3 AND K-22 AND COLLIDED WITH THE SEMI.

JOHNSON HAD TO BE EXTRICATED FROM THE PICKUP AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO UNITY POINT HOSPITAL IN SIOUX CITY WITH SERIOUS BUT NON LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.

THE DRIVER OF THE SEMI WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED.

AUTHORITIES SAY CHARGES ARE PENDING FOR FAILURE TO OBEY A STOP SIGN.
